Default Lci tail light retrofit... Help please, quick question!!!

Just got a pair of lci tails, the lights come with a long brown wire I'm guessing for ground with an illustration to plug it in. I have Bruce cables do I actually need to ground this wire?

This is what the instructions show that came with the lights. I don't want to mess anything up or start a fire or something crazy like that.

Nevermind I think I found a thread on it. It's suppose to be a better ground to fix a wiring problem. Can anyone confirm that?

That ground wire is a very good idea in order to avoid problems like this:

Yea I figured out this was a fix from the problem in that thread once I looked through it the last picture burnie35 had posted. That's why I had wrote Nevermind I just needed someone to confirm since I wasn't positive and didnt want to screw anything up. I appreciate the responses I did get though for sure.

Yea that is interesting. Idk if the year or part numbers matter. I can post the part numbers of mine to help anyone out in the future. When I went to place the order I didn't know the part numbers I just knew I needed 08+. So the service guy told me he would use the vin of another car to check and make sure. Idk if that had anything to do with it.

can you see where the other end of that ground wire attaches inside the light? i may want to add this, so i dont have a meltdown like some others have had.

That's what i also wanted to ask. Could you take a picture to the place where other end of wire is attached?
I believe it is attached later by someone, not not during manufacture.
