Great Video! That's what I was hoping for on the Sport Auto Trans...Im coming from the 04 545 Step w/v25 progman software and the auto shifts were noticeably better in v25 especially 3rd to 2nd downshifts...but, this seems instantaneous! Cant wait! thx again!

Shifts like lightning, baby! ![Worthy](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/worthy.gif)
I assume that was all done in sport mode?

Having done so a few times when not holding a camera, I am amazed just how fast this car is through the gears, even better in sports mode.
You can see how it just flicks through the gears

I'm convinced with a remap it will be well below 6 seconds to 60mph and good for 155mph+ and having looned around a bit today I even managed 36mpg

Just for fun, take a look at the following review (from another site) of the sport automatic. Keep in mind that this guy is coming off of an Infinity and it's his first BMW, let alone his first E60...
(Also keep in mind that he's so new to the E60 that he obviously hasn't even found our little corner of the 'net yet.
)

Also, I found a post by another guy who took delivery of a sport auto in Germany (I think it was from an ED.) You can read his brief summary here:

P.S. -- Some of you might find some humor in posts number 17, 21, & 24. It looks like sleepyca31 is banned from there now too!

Hahah Rudy I bet you cant wait for your car to come in huh?
Anyway, when I ordered the sport auto without any real concrete information about how it would work, I figured it would be the closest thing to the SMG that I could get this time around and I figured if I hated it, I'd still be able to deal with it for 3 years -- unless I really, really hated it, then I'd have to look at other options. Now that I've seen the initial reviews and seen the video above, I'm thinking this thing might be pretty darn cool and I'm wondering if there's any reason to look forward to a DSG or improved SMG at some point in the future. I'm certainly still (and likely always will be) someone who prefers a manual (SMG) to an automatic but for now, I think the next three years will not be too painful...

Clearly, I'm getting more pumped each day. I'm still really enjoying the SMG and I'm getting a bit sentimental now when I drive it because I know she'll be going away very soon. Someone out there will be getting a great car when I'm done with her...maybe they'll become a member of the forums here and we can arrange some sort of visitation rights!

Hi Guys
I also am looking forward to getting mine. I only ordered it on June 16th. Dealer said yesterday is was built and I can pick it up around 1st August.
535D M sport with sports auto box, carbon black. Was toying with the idea of the 550i but having seen the video I will be very happy with the diesel.
