My Ride: E60 525d M-Sport Saloon M57N2 3.0d LCI EXTERIOR: Jet Black, ///M-Aerodynamic Bodystyling, ///M-Rear Spoiler, De-badged, Gradual Tint Windscreen, ///M-Double Spoke 172M 19" Alloy Wheels (with non-run flats & space saver spare wheel) & ///M-Sports Suspension; INTERIOR: ///M-Steering Wheel, Black Dakota Leather Heated Sports Seats with Electric Lumbar Supports, Brushed Aluminium Interior Trim & Anthracite Headlining.
Default

Spoke to my dealer today - I have ordered a 525d M Sport (wish I could have afforded the 535d but couldn't stretch that far). The new LCI 525d does however have the same 3.0d engine just detuned compared with the 530d, and without the 535d's twin turbo's etc.

My dealer told me it was scheduled for week 17 build (not sure when that is? Can ayone help clarify when this is?) with anticipated delivery by W/C 23rd April - so I have a good few weeks to go! Can't wait.

Car ordered as follows:

E60 525d M Sport Saloon M57 3.0d
Jet Black
Flashlight Cloth / Nappa Leather
M Double Spoke 172 19" Mixed Wheels
M Rear Spoiler

Wish I could have extended the options list but couldn't stretch any further! Still, should be a fabulous car! This will be my first BMW! Good to hear I'm not the only who is getting so excited at the prospect of getting my new car!

Congrats - good choice, shame you couldn't have run to a few more toys but as you say, still getting a mighty fine car

Sounds great. Week 17 is the 17th week of the year, beginning January 1. As such, W17 is April 22. Not sure about the delivery date you were quoted as it takes about a week to build the car. Also, don't worry about all the bells and whistles right now, enjoy the engine, enjoy the performance, enjoy the handling--that's what makes a BMW.

I ordered 2 535i's, one Platinum Gray Metallic, and one Black Sapphire. They both completed production today. Now awaiting transit.

Not so sure about actual production taking a week - my last new car off production line was a Range Rover Sport - having been a member of RRS.co.uk for many months it was apparent from feedback from LR employee's that the cars took less than a day to build........

I guess that wouldn't entirely surprise me. Once the car enters production, production is definitely fast. I just meant that, according to BMW, it takes a week to go from "entering production" to code 155, "production complete"--even if it really only takes a day!

Where are they headed? I have been out of production since March 8 and waiting and waiting and waiting for transit. Perhaps we are in line together. Check out my "Who's first?" thread to follow others along too.

PS, why 2 535s?

Thanks for the clarity - which now makes more sense to me. I think that what the dealer must have meant was that the car is due for Week 17 delivery hence where his quote of W/C April 23rd for delivery must have come from. As for the actual build, this is obviously at the standard lead time (whatever that is) prior to this date!
