Hi guys,

I've read about the LCI Auto engaging P when the drivers door is open and that this is bothering some of you.

There is a solution for you guys, it is the same solution as for those that are bothered by the seatbelt chime.

Get a spare buckle and plug it in. Once the 'seatbelt' is locked in, P is not engaged when the door is opened, since the 'driver' is still in his seat and has the control.

OOo really? I wonder if thats the same for SMG. Mine always goes to N when I open the door. I cant remember if I have my seat belt on or not.

Why would you want to have the car in drive with the door open, if the car is stationary then your foot would be on the brake anyway!

They say it's for reversing the car, and better see what's in the back. I never do this. If I cannot see and cannot estimate correctly, I get out of the car, look, then drive again from my memory...

I have opposite; good estimations but a bad memory...

this happened to me when i took the 550i for a test drive and I had the car in "drive" (D) with my foot on the brake ready to pull out of the dealer lot and didnt close the driver door all the way so, opened again to close tightly and the car went into (P) "park" by itself and both the sales guy and i were confused for a second...of course he acted like thats what was supposed to happen...i probably hadnt put my seatbelt on yet? As with everything, imagine its something you'd get used to and not think about again...
