The other upside of carbon black here in the States is that it is exclusive to the 550 Sport, making it a color you won't see very often (unless you see me driving from Boston to Newport each weekend!!).

Deep Blue Sea is a really classy colour - says I who's not into blue cars... But I'm not sure whether it will retain it's "classiness" if going for M-sport...?
Oh, and by the way. it's really a small world, because one of the guys I grew up together with in Malm? now lives in Portsmouth, RI and works in Newport!

Darn this world is too small - I live in Portsmouth RI so you'd be driving almost past my house going to Newport --- and I stayed with my wife at Castle Hill Inn when we came here house hunting last fall - wonderful place isn't it? Ordered 550i sport, delivery expected 2nd week of April. Have a 530 sport, Black sapphire I am turning in. Intially ordered Carbon Black, changed order to jet black, changed to plat grey, changed to space grey. Seconded guessed every choice. Finally got to see a 2002 M5 in CB. Ordered is final with carbon black. IMO..black base paint with blue metallic flake. The blue is very apparent when the sun hits it right but it is not overwhelming. I had a 2001 toledo blue before it, so if you like black and blues get it..very sharp. Good luck and do a search on this forum as I did...lots of pictures and very helpful.
