the only interior shot of the car in a clean state at the moment! I am extremely pleased with the high gloss black trim......The comfort seats are quite simply the best car seat I have ever sat in (including Range Rover)
Excuse my ignorance here, is the 'joystick' gear stick part of the standard gearbox setup with the LCI 535d or is that (yet another) optional extra?

I've an LCI 535d m sport coming in a fortnight but it was originally ordered as a pre LCI car so i've never seen the options for an LCI...

Quite possibly - we need someone who has traded out of Pre LCI into LCI I think - even then though, I imagine the report will be on difference; I wonder if it is an existing box with updated mappings......
I'll let you know after the weekend. I'm chopping in my '05 530d Sport for an LCI 530d Sport, pretty much like for like spec and both are automatics.

Just a shame the Sports Auto box isn't available until June.

Entirely different box incorporating a form of clutch as well as a torque converter.

I also think the high gloss black looks grey also - I can only put it down to my photography skills or the richness of the Carbon paint in contrast
I had the same results when I took picture of mine, which is also black on black. In real life the leather is not really that black IMHO, but more of dark-grey-black. I guess with certain cameras it just ends up looking even lighter.

Love your ride TC and all the pics - keep them coming!

...the only observation I can make at the moment against the car is that the steering rack isn't as quick as the 3 series...
Did you miss out on Active Steering in your list of toys?

A question regarding how the exterior Carbon Black "looks to your eye" to help me decide if it's the color I want:

Can you describe the color in your own words, specifically:
- Is there an element of BLUE in the dark color?
- Does it change or show up differently in different light (Sunny day vs. shade, fluorescent vs. incandescent lighting, etc)?

Why I'm asking? Planning to order a 550i myself, love blue & thinking Deep Sea Blue over cream interior.... might go w/Carbon however.... anyone else who has seen the Carbon black in person please chime in!

Thanks!

I have a carbon black, and yes, in very good direct light there is definitely a deep blue (almost purple) shine to the car. Whilst initially sounding odd, whenever I see my car reacting like this, I just think how amazing she looks! One point though... after a few british wintery days of not cleaning it, and you have a layer of grime running over the car... it just looks dirty black!

My reccomendation, get Carbon Black, but invest in some good car washing kit!!

I have a 525dT on order with a June 1st delivery. I noticed that the residual heat button on the climate controls are gone. Have BMW taken away the function or do you have to use the idrive to turn it on?

I may be wrong but doesn't the MAX button do that when the engine is turned off?
