Hello,
it seems that there are a lot of fuel injector faults in new i6 engines. How many of forum members can join me in having a new petrol inline 6 engine without injector/high pressure pump problems yet? What about mileage?
I have been reading German sites as well and it looks like this is a very common problem. I really hope the new injectors will fix this.
Best regards,

for my Canadian 535xi it was on day 3, 300kms. 22 days in the shop before they found it to be the high pressure fuel pump. I was treated very well and hope that as this is my first BMW it's the last of the issues! Stephen. Manufactured in June'07
First, one of my injectors failed at about 8000km. They replaced it and the next day the car broke down again.
I just got the car back today, they fitted a new high pressure fuel pump and said I can expect a letter any day now from BMW saying that my car might have faulty injectors and that they must be replaced with the new design...
Symptoms are rough idle I believe, you will notice when something goes wrong: Engine warning light comes on and you loose power and experience very nasty engine vibrations...

LCI 523i w/ 1300km
so far so good. What are the symptoms?

Changed one injector at 1500 km...had to re-generate lambda sensor at one time...now at 7000km and it's still acts like before.
I'll say very jerky ride at low speed, makes it almost impossible to drive in a queue. The engine sounds strangled and it is as if it's running on 3-4 cyls only. And, if you stand still the idle rpms goes: up, caugh, caugh, down, up, down, caugh, caugh... up...
