Oops sorry. I haven't read my magazine so far.
With such a system, I would worry that at each red light going green, my engine don't start fastly enough. Keeping a gear engaged is not an option because you need to keep you feet on the clutch all the time.

Is this not only for the PETROL 4-cyl engines?

I noticed in the latest BMW magazine that it states that all 4 cylinder manual engines now come with Auto Start Stop feature. The feature that stops the engine when waiting at lights and automatically starts it again as soon as you depress the clutch. Can any new owner of a LCI 520d manual confirm this as I have not seen it mentioned in any other 5 series literature.
Thanks..

I think this feature is there for all 2008 5 series (as an option-Active cruise control with stop and go).?
Is is the same as STOP and GO feature ( included in Active Cruise Control ) ?

This is just for manual cars I think. My colleague has just got a 120i manual with this feature. Once "warmed up",if you stop at lights and take the car out of gear, the engine stops. As soon as you press the clutch, the engine starts up.
Cool feature, but he now has to re-learn taking the car out of gear as opposed to being ready at "biting point" for a head start

To the best of my knowledge, auto start-stop will only be available with auto transmission.
