I was listening to music for about an hr on max and I noticed my underseat subs cut off. I checked the l7 amp and it was pretty hot. Is this normal, are there some fans that are in thr amp that should be working?

amps do get hot...i believe some amps have internal fans installed. It wouldnt hurt to wire up a push, pull fan system with two little fans. The extra airflow is good for cooling the amp.

I think class D amps get hotter faster then most, they require less juice and can pump out a lot of power but typically have a little more distortion. I dont know if your amp is class D, im just sayin' in case it is.

Well this is the stock logic 7 amp so it's not aftermarket, I did see two of this internal fans but they weren't on, I need to know if they do turn on when thr amp gets hot or maybe mine is defective.

Any amp running on full or near full for an hour straight will get hot. Aftermarket amps, even with fans, you can cook an egg on them after running them for an hour.

Heat production is completely normal for an amplifier. The subs cutting out though, I would worry about. This means the amp is probably overheating.

My advice, is not to run the stereo for such prolonged periods of time at max volume. Whether it be aftermarket, or stock, an hour at full bore is just too much in my opinion.

lol i was so tired when i was reading this....i saw the L7 and thought of kicker l7 solo barics and related those to a kicker amp. I have no idea about the stock logic 7 amp. you would think since the amp isnt as powerful as a lot of after market ones that it wouldnt get so hot.
