Well, that is a good question. My first thought is no, my thought on need for alignment is to adjust for camber and tow misalignment after lowering the car. In most cases, people use stock shocks with lowering springs which will change the load aspect of the stock shock. In most cases, it will result in negative camber. I haven't seen the need for adjusting the toe too many times unless you went up a curb with a significant force or something.

I also talk to my other car guys and they tell me that as long as the ride height is even on all axles, you shouldn't have noticeable alignment issues. The proper way to measure ride height is to measure from the bottom of the rim up to the lip of the wheelwell. Some do it from the ground up but this isn't always accurate since the tires may have differece in the exact amount of air in them which effects height.

You want to shorten the coilover so you would turn clockwise.
