I did not know you were deciding between Audi and BMW.
My vote goes for BMW.
Here is my story for choosing my beemer.
I have a 535i.
I simply could have bought M5, however, I liked 535i since it is not available in Korea.
I imported it directly from USA by myself and loving it very much.
As for free service, I do not care about free service as long as I can have a vehicle I can enjoy.
As for maintenance, there is enough reputable and good shops around where they can do just about anything BMW Korea can offer.
Heck, even my Infiniti G35 coupe is US Version since I only wanted manual tranny for my G coupe and nothing was available with manual tranny from Infiniti Korea.
My current mod is M5 front bumper, M5 front fender, M5 rear bumper, M5 Mirrors, CF Hamann front splitter, CF Hamann side skirts, CF Hamann real diffuser, CF front hood, CF rear CSL trunk lid, PSS9, HRE 893R, Quad exhaust, Brembo BBK both front and rear, sprint booster and many more stuff to list.
I am not planning to build the M5 replica, however, M5 bodykit just looks too sweet and clean and couldn't resist.
All my parts for mods are waiting to be mounted since my car is going through safety and smog tests to get the car registered.
Once I have my car back in 2 weeks, everything will be installed at once.
I will post some pics for you to have some ideas how you want to handle your exhaust.

You are in Korea? Perhaps you have mentioned this before, but with me having a bad memory, I just can't recall~ I've pretty much settled on the 528i M Sport. It's unfortunate that the 535i is not available in Korea through the normal channels (BMW Korea). Starting the MY 2009, the only market that the 535i will be available in, is the U.S. For Canada, they only have the 535xi. I spoke with some people from BMW Canada and they told me that BMW wasn't selling enough units of the 535i in Canuckland. I'm going to keep this car for 2.5 years or 3 years and then trade to the F10 M5 when it comes out.
The G35 is also a very nice car. What have you done to it in terms of mods?
We should link up one of these days for coffee and talk cars. You are in Seoul?

Hey Seoulman
Sure, lets meet up sometime.
On my G35, I set it up for track.
CF hood, CF truank lid, CF wing, Work rims, Stoptech both front and rear, LSD, PSS9, Stillen header/ sport cat/ exhaust, race clutch, short tranny and etc.
I just like how G35 performs and handles at track.
I think G35 is a nice car for a track novice.
As far as getting the F10 M5, it sounds nice.
However, with BMW's way of changing styling, I would wait and see.
I may be getting old, but it takes a while to get used to new BMW stylings whenever they come out with new model.
I am sure eventually I will like the new styling.
