Well, it's like what I went through. I got the first LCI coming out of the factory but they didn't have the 'PS3-style' gearshift --it was the normal kind. I would have to wait another month and a half to get it so I decided to not wait... LOL
I feel like I've turned into 'DrLev99'... He goes through this decision hell until a new car is actually parked in his driveway. Since I don't have a driveway, the situation may be worse for me?

I have this feeling that if I don't get the new i-Drive, I'll be pissed when I see other cars with it. So... Do I i-Drive (pun intended) crazy for a month longer or do I get pissed every time I see a 5'er with the new i-Drive over the next 2~3 years?

Well, depends on if you can live without it. You won't see other cars with it--they'll be just zipping by.. hehehe but if it bothers you deep inside, then go for it.

I probably will go for it, but then everyone will have to put up with my whining and my wishy washy "shall I get this or shall I get that" ping ponging for another month!

HEHEHEH... Well, we'll see...

How long exactly more would you have to wait if you chose the new iDrive?

It doesn't snow much in Korea anymore. Now that I've said this, I'm worried that we'll have a freaking blizzard this year! Knock on wood. However, winter is the best time to break in a new car, so I've been told. Anyhow, I have the Genesis to flog if the weather turns bad, and the E60 would be parked nice and comfy in the garage of my apartment complex! So the 167s with the CSC3s, the Brembos, the quad exhausts, Rieger diffuser, SB, and the SAT retrofit would all go on!

Then....

Get the updated iDrive.

That way you have a month more to torture yourself and we can have fun asking you 'when's the bimmer arriving?' heheheh

Seriously though, you should dig up more info to see if the updated iDrive is really all that.

I have info in German, but I don't understand German. The new i-Drive hasn't been tested by anyone so... no reviews. However the difference between the CIC (new i-Drive) and the CCC (current i-Drive) are these points:

1) new i-Drive controller
2) deletion of second DVD slot on dash for SAT NAV, replaced with a HDD for NAV and entertainment
3) new graphics for the i-Drive monitor and NAV

I've added an attachment that list all the changes, but it's in German!
