There now we're at 7. WE only need a couple of hundred more to go.

There were a few more earlier in the thread, but they've gone 'underground'.

Went to bed, but my phone started ringing... Vancouver again! Online replying to some urgent e-mails and waiting for replies in return...

A friend of mine who runs a tuning shop was telling me NOT to get CSC3's... since he
thinks they're about the same as PS2s... soft so they run out fast on Taipei roads.

He suggested going with a harder tire......

He may be right. Because the CSC3s were created to perform equal to if not better than the PS2s, the tread wear might be as poor as the PS2s. However, my experience with CSCs have been that, they last a bit longer than Michelin high performance tires.

Your friend is giving you some good advice, but in the end it's up to you to decide the characteristics you want in a tire. I know it rains often in Taiwan (and heavily) so wet weather performance will be an issue. Then there is probably road noise. Keep in mind, harder compound low profile tires have an adverse affect on ride quality. Regular tires are definitely harder than performance tires, but they have tall side walls that 'give' to provide a 'cushy' ride.

Here are some tire review links for you to check out:

yeah but with 19's, soft cushioned tall side walled wheels are out of the question! hehehe

He did call me back and said Toyo's.

I dunno, I thought they weren't so good.....

Stick to the CSC3s. Everyone says good things about it. Your other choices are Michelin PS2s or Goodyear F1 Asymetricos. All good tires.

No worries! A lot of import tuners put Toyos on their cars. Stick to the tires the Euro makes and tuners use.
