2007 550i.

When the car is parked and i move my steering wheel i hear a knocking noise in the front end. Took it to the dealer and they said it was normal. Walked up to a new 5 series and there was no sound at all when i moved the s/w. Dealer is looking into it right now.

Another strange thing happened a few weeks ago. It was raining pretty hard and i was driving on the freeway. My steering wheel was vibrating like crazy and i thought i bent a wheel or lost a wheel weight. On my way back home the roads were dry and the vibration was gone completely.

Told the dealer about the issue and since they could not replicate the problem they said they couldn't do anything about it. Anyone ever hear of these issues?

How 'bout during slow movement? Like going over road split/join? If during stop it could be the power steering assembly ...
Have you ask them to inspect the steering ball-joint on both ends?

I think you can still hear it when driving slow. They tried to tell me the noise was normal but when i looked at another 5 it wasnt present. They said something about looking at the u joints.
