The keys are programmed when the were in use and you turn the engine off and pull them out.
Whatever seat position you had when you shut the engine off the last time, it will be remembered when you use the key the next time.

Correct. You just set it up in the i-drive to return to last seat position either after the car unlocked or after the drivers door is opened.

Is there away for the seat to go all the way back, wheel rise and pull in to ]its full position when you shut the car off. I have 2004 Yukon that I can set up so that when I shut the Yukon down and pull the key the seat goes all the way back wheel goes all the way up and full in dash position for easy exit of the car. Does the E60 allow this option and if so can someone tell us how to program it?

You may need to get the dealer to activate this function - the default setting is usually "off" , in the UK anyway. There are a list of functions somewhere which are optional features which can be activated/changed by the dealer. WHY AREN'T WE TOLD THESE THINGS??? :bashwall:
Somewhere on this forum these are listed for you - I can't rmember where I saw them all.

If I remember correctly, if your steering wheel is not at the highest position, once you off the engine, it will move all the way up (but not the telescopic movement). But not the seat.

Your not so high up in the air in the E60 as you would be in the Yukon so you don't really need to spin your body completely sideways and dangle your legs over the side to exit or enter.
