My Ride: 2007 Titanium Gray 550i, with sport, nav, HUD, Logic7, sat radio, cold weather, rear side airbags, rear seat heaters, and it goes like a bat outta hell!

Well, after a year of trying to get my keys (fobs) to do what the manual, and the salesman told me they would, I have FINALLY succeeded!! My keys have never returned seats/mirrors to stored positions. I have tried to initialize with both keys, I have had techs and salesman try and do it for me, but all I got was a response from the SA that he was 100% certain that keys didn't return seats to the memory positions based on the keys.......well......HE WAS 100% WRONG!! They finally (and I don't know why it took so long) figured out that I had an early build date that did not include the software to allow for seat-key memory. Yesterday, while in for new brakes (at only 10k miles), the installed the software, updated the CIP version, and cool....it works!! And, by the way, I have been reading all the trouble some people are having with 16.2, and I must say it's been not only trouble free for me, but has really helped. I have no radio/CD problems mentioned by others, and the acceleration is now awesome, even in D. I've come to the conclusion that (and maybe this was stated previously and I missed it) there seem to be way more widespread software problems with cars with NAV. I don't have NAV, and I really have never had any significant trouble with the IDrive......

I just wanted to pass this on in case anyone else was out there with an early build (mine is 10-03), and is having the same problem I was. Oh yeah, and of course, no charge for anything!! I continue to be very happy with my dealership's service department. I think I have them a bit intimidated, since I seem to know things before they do.....thank you very much E60.net!!

Same exact thing with our car. We didn't have the part we were supposed to have for key memory to work. They had to install it.
