Default Key fob falling out? It can be fixed

I looked around and did not see a definitive answer. Yes, you can replace the key fob receptacle without requiring re-coding or a dealer visit. Get a boneyard receptacle or get one off of ebay.
1. Disconnect battery and wait 10 minutes for complete discharge
2. Using T20, push up on the airbag spring, via the hidden hole on the underside of the weel. The bag will pop off.
3. Disconnect the airbag and set it aside, FACE UP
4. Disconnect button wire harnesses. I used a greenie screwdriver and just popped them off
5. 15mm socket and an impact made quick work of the wheel bolt
6. Mark the splines and the shaft. My wheel could only be replaced one way, so it may be a moot point.
7. Remove the wheel and the surrounding plastics. One philips on the bottom, two on top. Don't lose the plastic receivers. Now you have access to all of the modules.
8. T20, remove the fob socket and unplug from the harness. I drilled a small hole in a plastic tab above the rearmost Torx screw in order to access it.
9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Upon reconnecting the battery, you may be greeted with DSC and AWD errors. Easy fix. Turn the car on, turn the wheel all the way to the left, and then all the way to the right. The errors should go away.
