Just a thought but does the new system, with or without CA,offer improved security. The old method of stealing cars was merely to ram a large screwdriver into the ignition and turn it hard with a tommy bar shattering the lock system and getting the engine running. Can't do that now.

Yeah, maybe on cars that you seem in museems , but the new trend is to steal the key from you or your house as you sleep.

In regards to the key , ive got both the old key and the new starter button setups. Old key is fine in my pocket in the leather pouch and the new key fits in there just as easy. Comfort access does make more sense with the starter button tho.

The key fob without CA is a 2 step process that to me is ill conceived and a waste of time to operate. On the other hand, CA is great. You put the fob in your pocket and leave it there. When you approach the car, you put your hand on the door handle and the car unlocks. Sit down, put your foot on the brake, press start and you are off. What could be simpler or more convenient??

i havent had the privilege of experiencing comfort access, but i have experienced the start/stop button. after reading about comfort access, maybe its just me but its not that hard to use the key to lock and unlock the car in my opinion. i think that i would actually feel safer unlocking and locking the car myself with the key and hearing those beeps compared to the key/sensor being in my pocket and just touching the door handle. plus i enjoy turning the key opposed to pushing a button. just my opinion.

Exactly...but then again, I think I have control issues...

You get all the same beeps and blinks with or without CA.

I dont think so... Try starting a E60 with the old style metal key with a screwdriver. Wont work. It needs the transponder ID chip in the key thats emits a passive RFID signal to the car for it to start.

With CA havent you heard that when you're at starbucks people can use their laptops to read the signal comming off your CA key and then regenerate that by your car making it think its the ket to get access and start your car? Hahhahaha

If I had to say I'm gussing the old key is still safer... but hell I'm not worrying about that kinda stuff... I dont usually park my cars in places where they would want to steal a middle range car. Accords and Civics should be more worried than me.

I figured it might interest some of you guys to see some more details on how the ignition starter switch, the start/stop button, and comfort access works...

All I know is that I'm not getting another car again without Comfort Access. It rocks!
