Actually, the gasoline sold by Shell or any other retailer may come from a BP refinery. It is only the BP Ultimate grade gasoline, that some BP gas stations sell, actually comes from BP refineries. Thus, buying gasoline from other retailers might ultimately mean that you are buying from BP.
Consider not buyng gasoline at all or get a Prius.

Are you kidding me? 12 dollars a year is not worth the possible problems that might come with cheap grade fuel..imo of course.

I almost always stick with Shell 93 which is the only Top Tier in my area. On occasion, I'll get 91 octane NO ETHENAL from a small local place...the car likes it!
