I smoke in mine but i don't allow anyone else to. I trust myself being careful enough to not burn it. Plus my job allows me to steam clean and deodorize my car whenever i want. So you would never be able to tell it was smoked in.
I smoke in mine too, lol reading all those other posts just made me feel guilty. I dont use my ashtray though and it helps keep me in check for constantly cleaning my interior and knowing my car inside and out.

I'm on about 5-10 a day, but in the 9 months I've had the car I've only ever lit up in it once.
My old car would air out quiet well and you couldnt tell but I dont know if the E60 will be the same & I dont want to risk it. I personally hate car interiors that smell of smoke, because it goes stale and smells like a bar.

It is not that much of a worry for me, the microfilter does a great job of getting rid of the smell with the help of Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner to restore that European leather smell that I love every time I get in my car.

I allways carry some smelly stuff in the car and the interior gets a good clean out on a weekly basis (leather cleaning every 4 weeks however) so I cant see it being too bad.
What exactly does the microfilter do, I thought that was for incoming air from the vents!
