Just received a recall letter in the mail

My Ride: 06 530XI Sapphire Black, Black Int. 6sp, Cold, Prem

Seems to be an issue with the Steering Sensor on my 06 E60
Symptons
a. DSC indicator light will illuminate and display a message
b. Automatic turn signal function will not reset

States that steering will not be affected.

Does #1 just happen randomly? Or under certain situations. Obviously it comes on when you switch DSC completely off, but I doubt thats what the recall is refering to....

Same. Got it in the mail yesterday. Scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks. I may ask for a software update to v23 as I have never had an update since taking delivery one year ago.

I had my SZL recall work and some other gearbox grommet change carried out so I took the car on to the motor way to check if I could reproduce the DBC and DSC faults that occured. Guess what they do

Can somebody else with a 520D manual try this out and tell me what happens. I'm sure I have a fault that my stupid dealer has not removed.

Go on to the motor way at 70mph in 6th gear and engage the cruise control exactly at 70. Then move the cruise control control away so as to increase speed by 5 mph and then all the lights appear.

SA informed me of same problem with Steering Sensor at time of delivery (July 28, 2007) and scheduled service the following week. Everything has been good since.

It looks that way. Mine has a 4/06 build date. I tried to call my dealer today to schedule an appt but I was in phone hell so I'll have to wait for tomorrow to confirm. But I trust the letter telling me I fall within the recall.
