Both of the cars were pretty much stock, but I had the aFe CAI stage 2 mod on my 550i (11.75 more HP, so they say...)

Well the thrill ride didn't last too long after reaching 140 mph becuz I was nearing my Exit... but it was quite fun tho I would have loved it if it had gone longer... (more risks of getting caught by the cops also )

btw is the 335i coupe speed limiter set to 130 or 150? I been wondering about this...

This was 11 years ago, mind you, so bare with me here. I was in my early 20's and stupid. I was living in SF and I sped down 280 South (just past Crystal Springs Golf Course) and got up to 130mph in my old Jetta GLX (Great car b/t/w). Was it stupid? Maybe. I was following a friend in his Mustang. He was local and knew the roads. It was a Saturday afternoon and the road was wide open (not many cars). It lasted for a few hundred yards, before returning to the 80mph range.

And I must admit it guys, especially for those that live in the Bay Area, HWY 280 is a road that screams "speed". I never got that feeling on 101, but with 280, I would always see drivers speeding. It's pretty easy to get the lead foot on that road, esp when it's wide open.

(I know I'm going to get it for saying this on this thread...so just hit me with it. Come on, lay into me and tell me I'm an idiot).

Ballyowen was a great course (shot a 76 there) =) And doubled 7 and 11


We had a group of 20 on the trip. We play a Ryder cup every year and alternate locations (Brits vs. USA)
