Have you considered spending a little money to have an independent shop go through it and see if they find anything?

Hahaha, been there recently with 100k miles.

Spend that $200 on a good inspection, and if you search more, you will realize that most extended warranties are crap.

An independent shop may find things that your dealer would "miss". Plus, it can't hurt to have a list of problems from a reputable independent shop to hand to your service adviser. I'd spend a few minutes calling around and asking what places charge for a pre-warranty expiration check and what types of problems they typically find on 550's, and see what they have to say. It shouldn't cost more than $150 - $200.

I highly recommend this site to find a good indy in your area:

German Performance Service in Brighton
Boston Motor Werks in Belmont
Bavarian Motor Group in Winchester

These are the 3 I know of, but they might not necessarily be the only good ones.

I just broke 41K on my 2010 550. Figuring mine will be done by end of summer. If you find anything out, please share.
