My Ride: 2010 528i xdrive
Just a guy trying to fix his own car.
I’m a carpenter, but from time to time I like to pick up a wrench and try and fix my sh**box 2010 528i.
Had a new AC delco battery installed about 6 months ago. About a week ago my trunk (boot) would not open unless using the actual key, and my Interior and trunk lights will not work (pressing the buttons or opening the doors).
Also something else that may have nothing to do with these issues is that the first start every morning for about a month the car has a slightly hard time starting. Still fires right up but has a few hiccups on its way. Every start after until the next morning she fires right up.
Bad battery maybe?
New water pump, full transmission and transfer case flush and full engine tune up in the last year, I’m all in on this bad boy so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your trunk issues sound like the dreaded wiring loom is bad. Yes, it seems like a bad battery or something wonky with your charging feedback loop. If you have a code reader with a battery histogram function, that would be very helpful.

Solved
It was a blown fuse. #27 In the glove box, multifunction control module 1.
Car seems to have more power and the lights and trunk are back in working order. I’ll see tomorrow morning how she fires up to see if it helped with the starting issue. Hopefully something was just draining the battery overnight.
thanks for the help!!
