I went from Portland to Fresno a week ago and left wine country today and went 101 North to the coast and through the Redwoods and back home. I've had my 545i for almost a year now. I have never had so much fun in a car. It is made for the freeway. The way you sit in the cockpit, the ergonomics, make it perfect for long trips. I drove 12 hours today and was comfortable the whole time. The turns and the hum of the V8 brought a smile to my face! I did push it on a deserted straight away but stayed safe and aware . I did however get my first speeding ticket in 6 years going 67 in a 55, two miles from the Oregon border and on a downhill run. I hate that they wait on those stretches. Anyway, I know you all know this but it is "The ultimate driving machine".

Really? I have to respectfully disagree with "make it perfect for long trips".. I drove my 545 to Wisconsin in February (14 hours each way), and I had trouble staying awake both ways. I could only describe it to my friends as "trying to drive a recliner". I had to jack the seats all up funny and make it uncomfortable so I wouldn't snooze off.. I guess there is such a thing as TOO comfortable..

There's a cure for that. The unrestricted sections of Autobahn ;-) The adrenalin of driving at 150 certainly prevents sleepiness :-)
