I saw one today with manufacturer plates on it and it looked much more like the size of an E90 then an E60.

Actually, the sale is not yet finalized. Nor was the model in question developed or produced by Tata. Therefore, until Tata signs on the dotted line and starts making them, it's still a Ford product, at least this this model year.

Interesting insite, it might however not be the tires but the women that have typically driven them.
You know - I never considered that angle - but when you think about who drives Jaguars (at least around these parts) they do appear to be older folks and that may have something to do with it. Let's face it - our reaction time in our 50s, 60s and 70s is not what it was when we were in our 20s and 30s. As for women drivers....... I'm staying out of that brawl!!!!!!

OK, my bad. I saw a local report earlier this week in Malaysia that said the deal was to be completed on Monday, March 31. Nonetheless, the car mentioned by the OP is still a Ford product as it was produced under their management. Further, there in an article at CNN.com that states that Ford will contine to supply engines, transmissions, and other parts for 5-9 years. I'm not saying Ford ownership is a positive by any stretch of the imagination, but for those expecting some major, immediate change when Tata takes over, probably won't see it. A few years down the road, who knows?
Tata did buy 400 Acre Land somewhere near Kolkata, India to produce the Defender, FreeLander , Discovery and the RR Sport, good thing they excluded the RR to assemble in India, and it will be only for the INDIAN market....so no US buyers will have a MADE IN INDIA RR in the near future either.....
