Hey Guys,

OK, weather is FINALLY nice!! I'm painting my calipers this weekend. Where is a safe place to put the 4 jack stands? I figure I'll have to jack one side of the car at a time. Thanks in advance for your advice!!

There are jack pads behind each front wheel and in front of the rear wheels. To put it on jack stands all you have to do for the front is locate the CENTER jack pad located between the front wheels under the car. For the rear, you can jack it up using the rear differential, however, you MUST be careful: DO NOT put the jack under the aluminum cooling fins for the diff, make sure the pad of the jack is in front of the fins and pushing up on the diff itself. The fins are aluminum and not designed to carry the weight of the car. Other than that, it's easy

I do 1 wheel at a time. The paint dries within minutes that is if you use duplicolor engine enamel with ceramic. Comes in many colors. I use black for rotors and calipers because I don't like to clean them so often. $6 a can, you can go bad. Beats a paint brush.

Do you take the calipers off or leave mounted when painting?

it all depends how much time and effort you want to invest in masking or what else you want to paint Sprayed rotors for example don't look nice and they don't brake nicely....

I left mine on when I painted them matte black.
Cleaned them up with a wire brush, some light sanding where needed and brake cleaner and it was good to go.
