Thank you all for clearing things up for me. I guess I had heard about Chinese not having letters in the past, but I had forgotten until you guys mentioned it above.
I certainly don't know why MB is called Ben $hit in Cantonese, but I can think of many reasons why it should be called that in English

A BMW is a BMW in all the languages that I know (or know of), regardless of whether the language has western characters or not.
