So im about to invest in a full ISTA/P /D software solution with the icom A2 + B setup. But i have a couple questions if anybody has experiance with this.. My country has serious governmental problems. Most important of these (to me right now) is the electricity cuts out at specific times and private generators kick in for when the electricity goes out (usually 6 hours a day). I know updating takes time and i will have the most connection setup so i was wondering if anybody has time frames for a couple things that are listed below so i can have an aproximate idea about what to expect and be prepared for that (the electricity cut will be around 10-20 seconds until the generator kicks in, so obviously my power supply will cut out)
Idrive (CCC) update time over most using ISTA
DME update time
Any other module update times
Thanks.

8 hours for CCC, 50 mins TV module, 40 mins Logic 7
why do you want to update the car though, answer that and I'll suggest weather it's worth doing or weather there are other things you can do instead.

Transmission update took under 5 minutes.
However why not use a laptop, that will buy you enough time to get onto generator power. Also what benefit does the CCC update give you?
thank you,

The stories about 8hr programming is from users using the old DCAN USB cables. ICOM B uses optical and is much much faster.
The biggest codebase is the CCC and the DME, but neither should take longer than 15-20mins with an ICOM B system.
For comparison, traditional DCAN updates at 100kbits/s, MOST (ICOM B ) has a bandwidth limit of 25000-50000kbits/s

Thanks guys, thats what i wanted to hear 15-20 minutes is acceptable. 8 hours is impossible hehe. Well my iDrive throws bluetooth errors and it usually hangs until it connects to my phone everytime i start my car, it also boots in french one a week and i have to reboot it. DME software update because of my weird 10-20second cold morning idles.
