Got an appointment with service center for Software Update. Visited dealer for some accesory (an extra 6 disc CD magazine) and talked with a service rep. Found out that there's an available update (by entering VIN in the computer). I told him to program my car for the Daytime Running light option. Dealer will provide a loaner car (hope its a BMW too so I won't miss my ride.)

 

I meant to ask if anyone has been notified about this software update.

 

I should checkup on what software version i have in the new car, will try that trick people have posted earlier.

 

That just gives you the individual software Versionkontrolle numbers for the individual modules. It will NOT tell you which version of software you have installed in your car.

Today is the day! Just hoping that the latest update will not give me any problem that I've been reading. Will post the outcome this Saturday. Wish me luck.

What is the daytime running light option?

 

Heezy: It's the only option on the car that needs to be set by the dealer. All else is controllable by iDrive, we think. I think it uses the inner lights and they're on all the time. I don't think you need to set any inside switch for this, but not sure as I didn't ask for this option.
