The light guides inside the tail light assy could be blocked or damaged then.

that is kinda out of my knowledge.. in my country there’s hardly anyone who can assess and see where the problem is.. I guess ill wait out for some more answers, or I may end up buying another tail light that works properly.. thank you for the input guys

I would imagine the main electrical connector is the same between the left and right side.
Plug the working one in the main connector of the not working one.
Does it work? If yes, get a replacement for the bad one from a salvage yard.

well I mentioned that I tried on another tail light which worked without any issues
plugged the connector and it lighted up correctly, but when I plug it into my tail light, the problem appears. Maybe there is something wrong with the circuit plate on the tail light?

Ok, sorry missed that part where you tired another light on that connector. Yes, it could be the plate that holds the bulbs or the connector itself. As someone said earlier, there was a TSB or recall on insufficient grounding.

Google "E60 tail light fix". Here is an example video:

Is there an issue with just replacing the assembly since you know that works?

Thank you for the response mate.
however, I see that the rods on his tail light work properly, only there’s a flickering a bit on the foglight bulb. Do you still think it may be a ground issue?

You've isolated the issue to the tail light. Replace the tail light. Your best bet would be a junkyard.
