I have a 05 545 with the ipod kit installed in the glove box. Not the aux but the actual dock connector kit. I use a 5th generation 30 gig ipod (the first one with video) I noticed that there is line being created across the screen of my ipod, like dead pixels. I also noticed recently when I get in the car I have to actually unplug the ipod and plug it back in to get it to be recognized. This never happened before. I have other ipods and iphone but neither of them works with it. Do I need a software upgrade or something?

 

5th gen is what 3-4 years old? It could just be dying, try doing a soft reset on it and see if that helps also a firmware update might help also. sounds like a hardware problem though

 

Thanks, but do I need some ugrade or something to make a newer ipod or iphone work? I have both but neither work

 

that Im not sure of I just got my car 2 weeks ago and I dont have the ipod setup yet.
