ipod aux cable question

Hey guys,
Quick question,
My car do not have ipod adapter installed and i'm not interested in getting one. I've been just using my aux/12v connection on the back of the arm rest but wondering if I can still buy this http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-MINI-iPO...ht_1567wt_1165 (which originally intended for ipod adapter equipped cars) and use it. I just don't want to deal two connection cord going into my ipod (top and bottom vs one connection at the bottom of the ipod)
Let me know if anyone using this kind of cable.

As you know it this cable is for car LCI model (2008-up?) that has 6FL factory option. The eBay seller has indicated in the item description.
Not sure if you can 'hack' it to allow the audio feed from the bottom connector while drawing power from the USB+lighter adapter.

1. LCI - Yes
2. 6FL - No
I'm not interested in any factory option and additional installation.
so, anyone else tried to 'hack' this? Simply put I just want to have two separate wires to ipod into one Y-type wire. (BTW, I have cig power adapter that has usb slot)
