Glad you're okay. That could have been far worse.

Yes, the focus driver was a friend (actually a customer of mine!).

He was coming around the corner at such speed, there was no option but to stick my foot on the brake pedal and hope for the best.
As I mentioned above, we were stopped in traffic, so had a car immediatly infront of me and on-coming traffic on the other side of the road, so was going no-where fast.
Not only that, on the other side of the road was a huge drop, It was a split second decision to have to sit there and ride it out

Luckily the little one was on the left side of the car, so probably in a better position.

Wow! The Triumph does not look very happy! That said, what was the cause? Was the Triumph driver drunk?

Why I always stop 3-4 car lengths back from the car in front if there is a bend behind me, and watch the mirrors like a hawk.

Gives me time to move forward and create space for the twat who does not anticipate what might be around the bend.

Once somebody has stopped behind me, I am happy to move forward a bit.

Some people have great difficulty with the concept of 'Always being able to stop safely well within the distance you can see to be clear'.

Glad to hear you are OK, personally (and I know it sounds bad but)......it's a shame the Triumph driver wasn't badly hurt....................before he kills somebody else!

Nope, just driving like a tool.
Eye-witnesses said prior to that corner, he'd overtaken 5 cars before pulling back in infront of on-coming traffic.
Its a shame he didnt overtake 4 and the outcome would have been a bit different, but hey

Glad to hear everyone is fine. Looks like the rear of the car hit your rear tire (looks turned in) that all the damage to your vehicle?

Similar story: One day I left work at around 7 pm and was toying with a Dodge Charger from 40-70 mph for about 3 miles then he backed off and i kept going. After about 20 miles i noticed everyone stopping (this was an interstate, so 70 is max... everyone does 85.) I stop with a good 3 car lengths seperating me from the car in front and watch the car i was toying with getting closer, and closer, AND CLOSER... booom! hit me. Before he hit me i took my foot off the break a little and pointed my tires into a grass runn off rested my head on headrest and relaxed a little. seemed to work cuz no whiplash but WOW; My trunk was in my back seat. but guess what!?!?!?! I was driving a new Chevy Cavlaier that day, and the insurance company gave me the cash that i used to buy my E60 lol !

Man, glad your family and your friend is okay. It pisses me off to imagine what I would do to that fuck face if my family or friend was hurt.
