Hello, everyone. I just signed up on the forums, always glanced through it but thought I would actually get involved. Anyways, I drive an '04 530i with the 'sports' package. Great car, always fun driving this. But yeah, after work I tried starting the car and it had problems starting/idling. It would have a hard time staying up at around 1k rpms, it would go down to 500, rev to 1500, and so forth. Sometimes it would just die on me. I got it to start and run, and from a stop, it would have a hard time starting and going, something like a son trying to learn how to drive a stick. The shifting was also rough from 1st to 2nd, and so forth, and the more throttle I'd put, the rougher the shift would be. I got home, and there were no problems idling. I turned it off, and started it again, and it started but eventually died on me. I've searched through old topics as well, and I haven't got to checking the spark plugs or anything else, but that's the first thing I'm doing in the morning before I take it to the dealer to get it checked on. I assume this isn't safe to drive? Also, I recently got a headlight replaced (auto focus wasn't working) and the replaced headlight did not come with a clip, and the other has a broken but still working clip. Am I fine without the clips or should I get a few? I appreciate the help.
