Yes, the red thing on the bottom of the rear-view mirror is the clown nose. It should flash when the car is locked if you have the factory alarm...

 

In the US, isn't the factory alarm standard?? I don't recall seeing it on any of the option sheets either.

FCC, I just came to your conclusion when I read your post. As a matter of fact my led behaves exactly in the same way the clown nose does.

So, I have been told by my SA that my Alarm Kit was installed AFTER delivery of the car because, when I ordered it, it was already in production at one step i couldn't modify the alarm option.

Now, to clarify everything and just to make me relax, can you confirm that the retrofix Alarm Kit from BMW (65730397038) DOES NOT include the Internal Rear View Mirror with Clown Nose?

This is because from the image on REALOEM appears NOT to be included and everything would be understood.
