I have a quick question about interior noise. It's more annoying than anything else and I'm wondering if it is common.

I just picked up a 2004 530i. When in motion, there is a noise coming from each door. I thought it was the weather stripping (and it could be). It sounds almost like sitting on a couch covered in clear plastic and moving side to side. Hit a bump or the throttle and all 4 corners pipe up. It's driving me nuts. Anyone else have this issue or know what I'm talking about?

Could be the infamous squeaky door seals. There are various versions since 2004. Some people have them replaced, some lube them with Carbo Flo.

Mine mainly happen when it is hot out. It is also worse if wax gets on the door jam.

Some of the suggestions have been to clean the door jam to strip any wax. You can also check with your dealer as they can tell you what version of door seals you have. Last resort is to get Carbo Flo and lube them.

I have had a coupe versions over the life of my car. I still get a little bit of a squeak when it is hot. I am going to have them addressed again when I take it in for the 75k vehicle check.
