ive got the same ones. they are smoked and for my taste, a little dark but are so slowly growing on me.
my car is a Silver gray metallic. the dark turn signal give it the same effect that the OP posted a link to.. to give them some definition. so far i like it.
ill see if i can dig up some pics.

My thoughts on the link the OP shared with us, look good but seems odd on an m5 with the side grills IMO. Matching the front kidney grills with gloss would be a nice touch.
