Suede headliner/ trunk, 3 way front speakers, four 8" subs in rear shelf, ACM, iPod dock in ash tray using gateway 500 with MP3 text and video on screen, MRTM aluminum pedals/ door pins, 10 farad cap, sound processor, line conditioner, 2 amps ( 4x100 and 2x200)
I sounds like they gave you a substantial discount off their advertised price of $12.95 month (Sirius) or $16.99 ( Sirius + the best of XM ) Sirius website
When you said Sirius XM did you mean your 04 Satellite tuner is able to pick up the Sirius and the best of XM channels?

So I just got off the phone with my local BMW dealership to quote a Sirius sat retrofit in my 07 525xi. $908 buckaroos! holy moly! what do you guys think? I live in Burlington Vermont, and the local radio stations just aren't cutting it and i am the type of person who burns a cd then is sick of all the songs on there 2 days later.. I thought about doing a third party installation and just have it input in my AUX jack but that would look sloppy and and i want it to just be integrated into iDrive, just having a hard time understand why exactly it is going to cost me almost 1000 dollars to do?
Thanks in Advance
Thanks in Advance
Get the iPod adapter ($750 dealer install) or Aux port ($250 dealer install), I had Sirius before and it got boring real quick, commercial free music sounds good until you realize they are playing the same 5 songs over and over again
I am MUCH happier since I canceled my Sirius and used the cash to get a new iPod and am planning the Aux port soon.

I have tried a few times to activate the best of XM on the Sirius Sat receiver that came in my 01/04 545 but am told the unit does not have enough memory to handle the extra XM channels.

$1000 sounds about right. My car is prewired for sat radio but the unit itself is $500+ add install and programming to that it will be around a grand. also i found out if you get it installed elsewhere you would still need to visit the dealer to ge it to program or it won't work.

I had an 07 525i and always wanted to Sirus module... I think they had quoted me around $500 back in 2006 (when I got the car), but I was leasing and didn't want to pay for that out of pocket when I would be returning the car. I finally did get Sirius on my current car (09 535i) and I love it. In fact, I just renewed it for ~ $75 for the year (call to cancel and they will offer you this price).
If you can get the module installed for ~ $500 get it... Otherwise you would be better off getting the iPod connector and using your iPhone (assuming you have one) to listen to Internet Radio using either Pandora or AOL radio.

I have the XM skydock which I bought for a little over $100 and listen to it on my ipod. It comes in through the stereo and I can listen to the songs on my ipod as well. All I pay for is a subscription for $12 a month.

My Ride: 2006 Titanium Silver 550i, with all the bells and whistles!!
does your car have a CD changer (or pre-wired for one, there is a panel in the back of the glove box to remove to check this out) and play mp3 cd's? If the answer is yes to both of these, you can buy the ipod integration kit and intall it yourself in about 10 minutes. I can't remember what I paid for my ipod integration kit, I think it was around $300.
