Initialising the key fob
#1
My e60 came with 2 remote fobs, and one doesn't work. I've driven with the non-working one for about 5 hours, so it should have charged enough to control the car now.
I've tried initialising it numerous times however, and can't seem to get it to work because the door lock 'confirmation' at the end of step 3 doesn't even happen.
Can you guys please try and initialise your keys and report back? Google tells this is how to do it:
Fingers crossed someone comes back and says it works.
Cheers!

1- Get in and "close all doors"
2- Turn ignition on & off quickly (no more than 5 seconds) to start the process. Next action must take place within 30 seconds
3- First key - hold down button #2 (unlock) while striking button #1 (lock) three times. Release button #2. Confirmed by door lock operation.
4- Repeat for second key within 30 seconds of first.
5- After last key then cycle the ignition on/off to finalize the process (not necessary to start the engine.

if you have this style fob, try this. this is what the bmw service guy did to initialize a new fob i bought. insert the key/fob into the ignition, but when you push it in, hold it in for 20 seconds. then start car.
this works assuming you have a fob port on the steering column. not sure how its done with comfort access, or if you have the older style key with the remote on the end.

\ the i Drive in the car doesn't come on all the time ; sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't ...
at the moment, it is in the not working mode ; could that be the issue ...
