Merv,

Estoril blue is the very bright electric blue colour you see on X5s and 3 series sports. I ordered an X5 in that colour on trust as BMW could not provide pics and hated it when it arrived so they agreed to cancel it for me. It is a very loud, brash colour and I think it would make the E60 look cheap. Le mans blue is available which is an M5 and X5 4.8iS colour. It has a lot more class to it but I'm not a fan of blue.

LuvE60,

Carbon black is a standard colour option for the E60 M sport models in Europe. Most E60 sports in the UK are this colour and I'm not a fan of it as it looks like orient blue. The original carbon black colour as used on the M3 was far nicer (no offence intended for owners/lovers of carbon black E60's).

I was thinking of suggestions from BMW's back catalogue of colours. I may try to get Silverstone blue which is an M5 colour so they may not agree to this. It would look great with a polar grey interior.

Phoenix Yellow and a kiwi interior

I like the sound of Stratus with caramel, but I ultimately decided that caramel was a bit too sickly for me, which is why i went with the polar grey. Grey and orange dash lights / interior lights works really well, but the grey plastic looks less pleasing, and with individual you get grey + black which i much prefer...

I would go for a nice blue if you were looking for grey / silver alternatives....maybe lemans ?
