To me that is a helluva assumption on BMW's part that everyone wants to drive off to audible entertainment.? ? FOREVER!? :'(

Royal PITA IMO So I would get in the car. I've had it 10 days, I am in a strange country in an underground parking garage where the E60 is almost too big to drive down the spiral ramp. Nervous as hell that I will ding my new baby, listening carefully for the PDC beeps, concentrating hard, looking behind me at the Spaniard that has triple parked and bam! The CD starts blaring.

There is no way in hell that that is supposed to happen. They have to fix it, and fast.

Yep, the font and extra info is good stuff, I've posted it before.

Francois, the s/w update alone will not activate voice control. There is now a possibility that it can be retrofiited at the dealer. Doctor Diesel has his car in at the moment and it is one of the things he is trying to get done.

steve545, you wouldn't necessarily need the split mwnu/voice button by the i-drive controller. I would be quite happy to have the button on the steering wheel acivated. This would keep the retrofit labour costs down too (always a good thing with BMW!)

My car (and I suspect all early adopters of Pro Nav) was meant to have fitted at factory, I would be mighty pi**ed, but not suprised, if I had to pay for it.

Hehe, trust me, I am still trying to get over it, and I got my car in April. No compensation at all from BMW. grrrr.

I also found that the arrow at the right side with my pronav are much more enhanced.. It also show side streets and the arrow turns when you approach a turn. Further more the triangles that show traffic jams in TMC are also different. The rear of the triangle is hollow now so you can see where the triangle (now a little black arrow) is pointed too.

Furthermore my car stays in gear when going down a steep slope when previously it didn't do that (it would speed up in a neutral feeling).

I also noticed that my car is less slick in its upshifting. I can feel the car shift up gears now while prevously I didn't feel anything. It doesn't do it always but sometimes it bumps a bit going from 2nd to 3rd gear in the D and DS mode. I don't like it but in the future with another update I may get rid of this downside of the update.

Overall I am very happy with my update and the I-drive is much more stable then in version 11.x
