Had my new 535d for 4 days now and it's been DMS'd i believe but am just checking by clocking some times!!
What is best way to launch the 535d for some timing runs?
Did some crude stopwatch timings, and got 6.2 and 14.0 on the 60 and 100mph timings.....
wasn't very good on the launch at all, was trying it out in DS mode, would the manual mode be better or even standard D mode?
Thanks in advance....

Local mag tested LCI 535d , the result is 5.94s & 13.92s out of 0~100 Km/h & 0~400m
The test driver said quite detail about the successful launch
(1) DTC fully off
(2) Brake TQ to 1700 rpm
(3) Manual mode
As a DMSed 535d you have, brake TQ should be as lower as 1500 rpm to minimum spin. $.02

Hi & welcome to the fold,
As far as launching the 535d goes then just boot it in D or click it up a gear around 2.5k in manual mode,
Using DS mode revs the deisel to high & out of its torquey sweet spot.
If you have been DMS'd then you should be hitting mid 5's to 60
And around 13 to 100.
Nick

Hi Berry. Phone DMS and give them your reg plate, they'll confirm if it's been remapped by them or not. Where in NW are you? Im near Warrington, JCT 11 M56. Would be happy to meet up and compare performace (sensibly, I'm not in to racing !!). Or, is there any easy way to tell by looking at speed vs revs? e.g., at 60mph, would a remapped car be showing lower revs and a non remapped car?
Car was initially remapped by W8PMC, but it had a service at BMW 3 week ago by the previous owner (only bought it last friday!) so am just looking to check that BMW service didn't wipe it.......

The correlation between engine speed and road speed will remain the same with any remapped car - this can only be changed by altering the gearbox/axle ratios. Therefore a remapped car will be doing the same revs at 60 as a standard one, just that it will have got there quicker! (I'm still jealous).
