Ignition coil testing

My e60 has 95698 miles on it and the SES light is on.

I have changed my spark plugs, two front o2 sensor, gas cap and crankcase vent valve. (Replaced in that order)


I had the dealer ship do a diagnosis for $110 after i changed gas cap, and they told me it was the leaking crankcase vent valve.

After replacing the crankcase vent valve i am still getting ODBII codes 300 (random misfire), and 303 (misfire on cylinder3) , 304 (misfire on cylinder4), 305 (misfire on cylinder5).

Is there a way to test coils with ohm meter?

Need help cant pass emmisions

I'm not sure about resistance readings, but one traditional way to find bad coils is to swap the suspected bad one with another cylinder's. For example, swap #3 (suspected bad) with #6 (known good from your info) and see if the fault code follows the cylinder.

Did all three errors 303, 304, 305 start at once? Very unlikely that 3 coils went at once. Have you gone through at least one tank of gas with these codes?

I cleared the codes and filled up using premium.

I will drive it and see if codes re appear on same cylinder and then move them!

Could be a faulty knock sensor, cam/crank shaft position sensor, failing ECU/loose connectors...

From ODB-Codes.com: Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Thanks for the the help.
I found what was causing the issue.
It was my DISA valve (air adjuster valve) it was broken.
