This is what happens when a company known for having the best NA engines in the world, strays from the norm

+1, but there is no going back to NA engines. Another reason I am getting the E46 M3, not the 335i.

Thanx for the input guys. I'm gonna wait and see what happens. If it takes another dump, I'll LL it. I really would prefer it if it didn't however. I've got enough going on in my life right now, and I really don't want a headache of that size jumping into the fray. As far as getting a 550..I think the 535 is gonna be our last BMW. For a while anyway.

Feel bad for you, guys. I hope this time around they'll resolve the issue.

With so many problems, even with the updated fuel pump I wonder why BMW can't get it right, don't they test these things??. I guess if your a company that could make a HPFP that worked you could be very rich in a few years.

A few folks in the parking lot have the 535 and 335...

I thought I read that the 535 was a performance match for the 545/550 and that the 335 was nearly as bad-arse as the previous generation M3 (thanks to 300 HP and 300 lb/ft of torque.

I always disliked turbo's. I think BMW woudl have done better with a supercharger- if they could have figured out how to muffle the whine from it.

It's a shame you've had this negative experience with the 535 ...

That said, I think what I've highlighted in red is the message you should write to BMW Corporate and BMWNA. I'd keep it short and to the point and state your concern about product quality, YOUR customer experience, and the potential impact it has - NOT ONLY IN YOUR INSTANCE .. .. but with your widening circle of friends, family, and other associates.

BMW needs to listen real hard ... the auto market is going to under go dramatic changes in the next decade and there are times I wonder if BMW is going to be there!

Hope things get sorted out for you quickly.

Why would you want to muffle the whine. Its such an addictive sweet sound.

Jeez, this FP problem is ruining an entire line of cars for a few years it would appear. I wouldn't get involved with this situation.....knowingly.... even if BMW is making good on the repairs. Who the hell needs that with a $60,000 car. Stupid. Looks like the 550 is the only reasonable alternative.
