iDrive Update killed navigation

My car was in the garage for 5 days last week for a service, fixing the knock on the steering and a slam on the gearbox. They upgraded the software and all seemed fine. Apart from now, if I start the car and it's been sitting a while (more than an hour or so) then the navigation just says "Insert navigation DVD". I have to play about ejecting and inserting the DVD and rebooting the system, at least three times and then it finds the DVD. Occasionally it crashes after that once more!!
Anyone else had a similar problem? I thought it might be the latest version but it's more likely to be the coding getting corrupted?

it would help to put more info about your car and software versions old/new...................

My first impression is to take the nav DVD out and make sure there are no scratches or funk on it. If that's not the problem, then like you mentioned maybe the update got corrupted. (Soon the day will come when our cars need antivirus and de-frag applications...)

Software before - don't know exactly - believe it was 17
After - whatever dealerships in the UK are on now - 20?
DVD clean from funk.
I guess no-one has experienced a similar problem!

My SA tells me that the fix will be out in March.
