I bought my car with 54k on it.
The front brakes on iDrive service showed 29k remaining, and rear had 26k.
After 1 year and putting 13k on the car for a total of 67k the front brakes show 31k and rear 28k.
Shouldn't these counters be going down and not UP?
BMW of Fairfax said they can go up but I just put 13k on these pad?!? They measured the inside pads on the front and they still 'looked good'.
No one anywhere can answer this question. Inclduding BMW NA customer line.

You are obviously very easy on brakes as am I. I am at 73k miles and fronts are now at 24k and rear at 36k. Up from 22k and 32k respectively over the last 20k miles driven. I have had them checked each visit and they insist the pads are in great shape. You know they start out with a basic number and then the algorithm takes over. If you do a lot of highway driving in proportion with the norm or a lot of down shifting to slow down in traffic (I have a lot of both) you will see this phenomenon.
