IDrive replacement/repair

Driving down the road, radio came on by itself. Turned it off, came on again a few minutes later. Next Morning, started the car...radio came on for a few secs, then went off...display black. No response now from pushing the radio knob or Idrive. Just black screen...
It appears like the seatbelt and communication systems are linked and are down as well.
I am assuming that the main computer for the IDrive went down. Can this be purchased and replaced by me personally?

Sounds like the only option is to take it to the dealership and be prepared to drop a few bucks....sorry to hear 'bout that.
