iDrive reboot by itself???

My Ride: Metallic gray '05 545i Sport Black Leather with HUD, Step, Nav, PDC, CWP, K&N Air Filter, Black RPI scoop, Black painted calipers, 35% F1 Pinnacle tint, 19" RDSport RS-2F rims with Continental ExtremeContact DWs.

The other night, the iDrive went blank, and the system did a reboot by itself. Is this a sign the battery is starting to go on my 05'545?

just out of curiosity I wonder of those who have issues, how many have upgraded to a newer Navigation DVD?

I'm having issues (see other thread) but am using a backup copy of 2009 Professional Nav DVD. Maybe it is built in obsolescence?

my idrive keeps on freezing and the sound from the stereo cuts out

My Ride: Blah blahblah blahblah meh.

My idrive blacks out at least a couple times every day just for a split and it does this at the very same road locations. I haven't taken it back to the dealer because I noticed that it happens at the very same road locations that I have little or no cell phone signal. Other than that it seems to work fine. I do not have navigation obviously.

I first had this problem using my 04 Nav disk and upgraded to the 2k10 disk and Im still having the same issue. After the Nav interface comes up Im unable to use the radio, Climate control for about 10- 15 minutes then the system resatarts.
