Idrive oil level measurement
E60 525d LCI 2008 (CIC)
Hello, I am having an issue with Idrive Oil level. For some reason CIC shows oil level always at max, but when I check the dipstick, oil level is in the middle between max and min. I’ve had a car for nearly 6 months and I never seen oil level lower, it always on max. Before I did an oil change it was on max as well. Anyway, besides that I can’t find an option to measure oil on the Idrive. I only noticed when I start a car, oil measurement starts automatically and takes only like 5s and it shows max again, but it should be somewhere in the middle.
I heard that in order to measure oil level you need to drive car until its warm and reaches operating temperature, I did it today but it stayed on max and measurement option didnt pop up.
Do I need to try to update CIC software? Could it be something related with coding or could be some issues with oil level sensor… Or e60 CIC never had measure option comparing with newer BMW CIC system?

if you're dipstick is still reading ok, I wouldn't worry about it. You don't know how many graduations are available on the sensor and display. I could be it needs to be below where the dipstick is now to read anything but max.
